Help me with this cargo net/object restrainer [emoji36]

As the title states for the life of me I can't figure out how this object restrainer attaches to the vehicle. This is not a cargo net as it has 2 hooks and 4 loops. I think it is like a spider net but the loops don't make sense. I appreciate any insights

Yours looks slightly different than mine. The loops clip on to the star-ish knobs and tie down points at the rear of the cargo area (here's a link of mine, and here's one similar to yours (5th gen design I guess?)).

The ones you are showing me are cargo nets, it has a fabric on the ends of the net to protect items not to slip out. Mine does not have that. It is defiantly a spider net that goes flat across the whole trunk but I just can't figure out the mounting points of it. something similar to this I assume, I am not even sure if it's from this vehicle it came with the car when I bought it.

Curious about this, too. Mine has been sitting in the garage for about 5 years now but have been thinking about dusting it off and throwing it in my wife's 4runner.

Are the loops supposed to attach to the head rest posts and the clips to to the D rings on the floor?
 
Pretty sure there are attachment points for the loops under the edge of the double decker platform. the hooks go in the forward tie out loops at the base of the rear seat

No way that is what it was intended for!!!! If you put something in there it will hang low enough to bother your view in the rear view mirror, there has to be a better way that Toyota wanted people to use it as.

going to use it for holding things when camping
 
Spider net, can also be a 'very lite duty' catch net using 4 mounting points mid-level. Here's the intended use (you'll find the 4 catch-hooks under the deck and the two clips attach up-front). Pardon the dirt in my pics.

PS - That "roof hangin' contraption" looks pretty chaotic - heh heh :doh:
